Work Experience and Interests

Communications Systems Engineer - ViaSat, Inc., March 2001 - Present. Evalutation of uplink and downlink path diversity algorithms under severe channel and interference conditions. Communications engineering of the ground segment for a future global satellite communications system, specific areas include the ground-satellite common air interface, mobility management, and protocol splitting and acceleration for TCP/IP optimization over satellite links.

Engineer II - ORINCON Corporation, May 2000 - March 2001 Adaptive beamforming algorithm partitioning and implementation for a reconfigurable hybrid architecture comprised of fixed and floating point TMS320C6x digital signal processors and FPGAs. Consulted on Bluetooth and 802.11 compatibility.

Engineer 1 - ITT Aerospace/Communications Division, August 1999 - May 2000 Developed and tested speech recognition and network security software.

Interests: Surfing, mountain biking, fishing, snowboarding, and guitar.
