Work Experience Up Arrow

  • Space and Naval Warfare Center, San Diego, CA
    Graduate Researcher (Summer 2004)
Analyzed adaptive filter structures for UHF satellite communications to mitigate the effects of multipath interference and narrowband interference. Specifically the Normalized LMS filters have been shown to provide significant improvements relative to the classic-optimal deterministic Wiener filter, of the same order. This project analyzes the various structures and parameters to best mitigate the characterized interference.

  • Northrup Grumman Space Technology Radio Systems, San Diego, CA
    Systems Engineering Intern (Summer 2003)
Conducted impact analysis for the AUX/ACP PIP on present two Maintenance Control Nodes (MCNs) versus one new MCN for combined panels. Conducted an open-air analysis of the Radio Systems Facility. Assembled a stress test for each CNI function with the purpose of running the scenarios simultaneously.

  • MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Lexington, MA
    Research Assistant (Summer 2001)
Implemented algorithms to process and analyze hyperspectral data in MATLAB. Explored various methods to choose subsets of spectral bands to separate classes of targets. Used the Spectral Angle Mapper metric to translate spectral data into numerical data. Completed classification test and compared the performance of the proposed algorithm against baseline algorithms.
